SPECIAL EVENT
Tuition Raffles
The UW-L Foundation holds tuition raffles both in the fall and spring
semesters. Letters and tickets are sent to students and parents offering
them the chance to win tuition at UW-L for a semester. Tickets are
$10 each or 6 for $50. Proceeds benefit the University through the support
of scholarships, emergency student loans, research, on-going programs
and new projects on campus.
Incoming freshman Matthew Earnst wins tuition raffle
Incoming freshman Matthew Earnst is the lucky winner of the UW-L Foundation’s May 2009 tuition raffle. Earnst will receive free tuition — around $3,000 — for the fall 2009 semester. Coincidentally, both Earnst and the March raffle winner, UW-L junior Hope Eike, are from Neenah.
The biannual contest was so popular that the Foundation added an additional raffle each semester starting this spring. Annual Giving Director Aaron Bonnett says the chance for a free semester of tuition is even more attractive as education costs rise. “We decided to add an additional drawing each semester because parents and others wanted to take part in the raffle,” he says.
